A must visit on your trip to the Republique D'Afrique du Sud is the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg.
KimmyT has visited it and she reckoned that it brought tears to her eyes.

Gold Reef City is a great place to visit. It's right next to the Apartheid Museum.

You can learn about gold in SA, go down a mine shaft, pan for gold, see molten gold being poured and a whole lot more.
It even has a rollercoaster or two, lol. I like Gold Reef City.

Johannesburg ( or Jozi ) is also known as Egoli which means "place of gold"

Jo'burg is our economic hub. It's an interesting city to visit!
Like the rest of South Africa, there is extreme poverty and unbeliavable wealth.

So enough about Jozi, lol.

You must go on a game drive - or as the non-africans would say - you must go on a safari, lol. Safari, btw, means "journey".

There are many great game reserves here. Admittedly, the Serengeti East Africa) is the Mecca for game viewing but our transfrontier game reserves with Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia are awesome. You can check out the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah, rhinoceros and buffalo) as well as hundreds of other big and small game ... and no, there are no tigers in South Africa lol.

A friend of mine went on a game capture last weekend. I was soooo jealous. They darted two rhinos and were charged by an elephant.

All in all,visiting a game reserve is one of those MUST DO things when you come to Africa. There are even places where you can play with lion cubs and cheetahs.

WOW, The World Cup is over. The Atmosphere in South Africa was awesome. Well Done Espana.

I got to watch the Netherlands play Slovakia at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. UNBELIEVABLE!!
