Crystal tapes her first scenes as Carly 2.0 on Monday, August 17!

We thought we'd run a friendly little competition (with prizes!) to see who can most accurately predict the storyline that will reintroduce Carly to Salem and its inhabitants.

Post your theories here, and the person who comes the closest to what we see on screen will win .... something to be announced!

To help you along, let's recap what we know so far:

Ken Corday (EP of Days) has hinted at a Carly/Bo/Hope triangle.

Vivian Alamain is on her way back and will have story with Carly & Victor.

Michael Sabatino's Lawrence Alamain will be "popping up" too, according to a tweet from Crystal.

Soap Opera Digest has reported that Erick Avari has been added to the cast and will be interacting with Carly as well.

And here are Crystal's tweets about her debut and storyline:

Knowing DAYS, she created a CLONE of herself when she started to go batty from living with the Alamains. Then batty Carly shows up in Salem and clone Carly will have to come save everyone. Hey...it could happen!!

Sweet! What a great idea for a contest! I've been a fan of Crystal's since Dool. Looking forward to seeing what Crystal does with Carly 2.0. I'm in!

(I'm new here so be gentle. I'm also terrible at predicting anything.)

Sane theory:
Carly is brought in to "cure" Chloe who is currently languishing in a coma. By languishing I mean "pretending to be unconscious while wearing lots of makeup."

Insane theory:
Carly has become an expert in "herbs" and custom-made viruses and is brought in by the Dimeras to cook up something to off Victor.

Should be true but won't theory:
Carly is brought in to revive all the patients Lexie has misdiagnosed over the years. This could keep her busy for a decade.

Carly is now a reknown neurosurgeon and she is brought back to do brain surgery on Ciara who was hurt when she was rescued from the kidnappers.

I'm sure I'll get this wrong because I only know about the EJ/Nicole s/l and the Sammi s/l and the Bo/Hope/their child being kidnapped (see I don't even know the child's name!), but I'll take a crack at it. My guess, in no particular order:

1. Carly is now a renowed child psychologist and comes back to Salem as child psychologist/criminal forensic psychologist. She helps Bo's family find the kidnapped child and deal with the aftermath of the kidnapping. At the same time...
2. She helps EJ, Sammi and Rafe deal with the loss of the baby, Grace ??. At the same time....
3. We find out that all of this has been some evil Alamain plot to take over Salem and rest control of the town and its citizens from Victor and Stefano. But Carly is not to blame because she was being used by Vivian and Lawrence. She had been brainwashed or blackmailed into being involved.
4. I see Carly being involved with EJ at some point because he's cute and young, and he's a DiMera!

that's about it. let the games begin!!

I predict there will be an EPIC eyebrow showdown between Crystal and Kristian. No one raises their eyebrows like those two. I can't wait!!! [smilie=happyspinny.gif]

I cannot wait until Carly 2.0 is back........

Carly is no longer a doctor having quit the medical profession when she left Salem. Auntie Viv and Carly opened up a Coffin Shop. They have a side business selling "herbs". With Lawrence Alamain as the head of the family, business has been booming and they are buried in orders (heehee)!

I think Carly loved Dr. Daniel Jonas in a previous time and will be hooking up with him... This will send a jealous Kate Roberts after her, when word gets out and the fun will begin... When Vivian gets thrown into the mix, Kate and Vivian will become evil bedfellows, giving Carly lots to chew on...

As Hollywood doesn't have the skill of the Venice team my money, considering the character casting, is Carly having had some giant issue in the middle east and ending up hiding out in Salem to avoid the fallout from her experience overseas (perhaps protecting a family that needs help).

I have never thought that her and 'Larry' made it past a year or so.

As much as I HATE Days - I will look forward to following the return of the Carly story. Her time on the show was the heyday of my love of that NBC show and I have faith that perhaps they will return Days to less stunt and more talent - to less hair models and more TALENTED actors....

My stab at it is that Carly will return from Europe trying to flee Lawerence whom she will break up with and divorce. He will follow her back to Salem. This will also bring in the return of his mother. She will break ties with Lawrence and begin a heated affair with Dr. Daniel at the hospital or she will wind up with EJ who is beginning to have problems with Nicole

My first answer was too serious and boring, so...

Breaking news from Days Of Our Lives: Due to the popularity of Twilight and True Blood, Crystal Chappell will be returning to the role of Carly Manning as a vampire. At NBC, we believe that this storyline could save Days from cancellation because God knows we can't find anything original to write about. We need input from our viewers about who should be the first victim.

Personally, I think CC would make a very sexy vampire. I guess Carly liked the whole sleeping in a coffin thing. I would have to say that Viv should be the first victim and then they could join forces to terrorize Salem, esp. Stefano.

What do you think, who should the first victim be?

*waves hand eagerly* Oooo! Oooo! I know! *takes out list* how about EJ? Then EJ, and maybe EJ, followed by ...I don't know...EJ...?? The "victims" will be killed right...? Like dead? Like no more cheesy scowling and irritating british accent...? I like where this storyline is headed! :mrgreen:

It will be great to see carly back on our screens...and who knows maybe town of salem has a swine flu epidemic and carly is the expert on curing it...LOL :lol:

I will never get over my Olivia/Otalia love. I liked Carly but I am just not thrilled to see her with anyone other than Natalia. I don't like Bo and I don't like Days. I will watch but not happily.

hmmm..

ok Carly is some kind of celebrity doc/psychic and the new guy is her bodyguard/slash confidant.. who protects her secret strategies/tricks

She gets a love scene with Galen Gerring because he is the only guy I totally have a crush on right now

And he and Crystal would be guh..beyond all hotness (other than CC with JL of course)
